Located in a coastal region of the Shandong province, our 1,000-mu (165 acres) Yantai farm grows 90 different varieties of chemical-free products, from leafy greens to root vegetables.
Our second 1,000-mu (165 acres) farm is located on Chongming Island, about a one-hour drive from downtown Shanghai. With 40 greenhouses in operation, the Chongming location primarily grows leafy greens, such as kale, spinach, and a variety of lettuce types. The farm provides about 50% of the produce used in our first location at Anfu Road.
Our farms are a bird lover’s delight. Over on Chongming, we’ve attracted a flock of 200 brown ducks with elegant long necks ringed with white that travel freely around the farm. On the more domesticated side, we’ve got flocks of chickens on both farms raised for their eggs.
OUR FARMING TECHNIQUES
Growing all-natural food is a complex and exacting science. Sustainable agriculture involves many factors—from soil type and water quality to pollination methods and pest control—that we meticulously monitor from seed to table. Our all-natural farming techniques include, but are not limited to, crop rotations, natural pest control, pollination with Dutch bees, and microbial compost. Our farms are currently undergoing organic certification, a process that requires the farms be in operation for at least 3 to 5 years to ensure that the soil is completely free of synthetic chemicals.
