New Store and New Menu in Pudong’s IFC Mall!

It’s official. We’ve finally made the leap across the river and into Pudong! After months of preparation we’re excited to announce that our fourth location is now open in Lujiazui’s IFC Mall. And more importantly, with a completely new menu!

Hunter Gatherer’s IFC is home to the next step in the evolution of our HG Bowl. Over the past two years we’ve launched a variety of different dishes and learned a lot about what our community loves. It’s inspired us to make a few changes.

At Hunter Gatherer IFC, we will be launching an entire menu of 10 pre-designed bowls to highlight the freshest seasonal ingredients from our farms and to represent a wide variety of complex yet recognizable flavors. (But don’t worry, if you’re a fan of “Build Your Own” that option is still available). We hope you’ll fall in love with these new bowls. We certainly have.

Mala Spice (gluten free, dairy free)

Fans of spicy food will love this Sichuan-inspired chicken and rice bowl made fiery with pepper sauce, chili bamboo, and crunchy ma la peanuts. We top the bowl off with an HG signature touch—pickled jalapeños grown on our own farms.

Are You Furu? (gluten free, nut free)

This unique, not-to-be-missed bowl is a modern take on furu, fermented tofu, a traditional Chinese food with a savory, cheese-like taste. Made with a touch of sweetness, the creamy and light pink furu sauce pairs perfectly with tender pork, sweet lotus root, pearl barley, and crispy fava beans on top.

Guac & Beans (gluten free, dairy free, nut free)

Smashed avocado is king in this healthier and lighter version of American Southwest cuisine. Chipotle sauce ties together juicy chicken thigh with red-brown rice, salsa fresca, and pinto beans, while lime adds a refreshingly tart zing.

Coconut Curry La (gluten free, dairy free, nut free)

Our original HG mala curry sauce has evolved from the sauce station to its own Thai-inspired bowl. Coconut is blended into the curry for a sweet, thick, and creamy sauce that’s combined with chicken thigh, Chinese pearl barley, and vegetables for an invigorating and tropical taste.

California’s natural and fresh flavors are celebrated in this energizing bowl that’s both healthy and light. A generous salmon fillet sprinkled with crispy quinoa and preserved lemon cashew sauce is the star of the show and complemented with smashed avocado, sweet grilled figs, cherry tomatoes, and roasted vegetables.

Stop Drop & Rou (dairy free, nut free)

Our best-selling new bowl is delicious comfort food that tastes like mom’s cooking. Hongshao sauce mixed with savory and tender braised pork and eggs, topped with crispy wonton skins, gives the bowl its indulgent flavors that are balanced by spinach, red lotus root, and crispy kale chips for a filling meal that won’t weigh you down.

Jolly Green Giant (vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free)

Perfect for pesto lovers, this green vegetarian bowl puts a special twist on fresh pesto with added furu, which gives the sauce a savory and bolder taste that’s still light and clean. Pan-fried tofu and vegetables on a bed of pearl barley will keep your energy levels up. We also recommend this pesto-based bowl with salmon.

The Shroom Bowl (vegetarian, gluten free, nut free)

Four different kinds of mushrooms—white, shiitake, maitake, and golden thread—make up this delicious vegetarian bowl that even meat eaters will love. Shisanxiang shiitake gravy and chili bamboo bring a spicy heat to this vegetable-rich bowl with crispy fava beans on top.

Viet-Nom Nom (dairy free)

Inspired by Vietnamese cuisine, this braised pork bowl will be a favorite for those who like their food with a sweeter touch. Light, refreshing, yet complex, this balanced bowl with sweet chili sauce, lime, and chili bamboo is an explosion of different flavors from sweet and spicy to tart and savory.

Smokehouse BBQ (gluten free, dairy free, nut free)

Our head chef Brian does American Southern barbecue justice in this vibrant and colorful bowl with tender braised pork and smoky barbecue sauce made in-house. Bacon-braised cabbage, roasted corn and okra, and pinto beans bring home real southern flavors.
